Hello everybody! And welcome to our first official blog post!

Disclaimer: I am not a professional writer, but I try 🙂

This is a post about my thoughts of plants in relation to design.

As a landscape architecture company, people think of us as having great focus in creating pleasing aesthetics and ideal functionality in our designs. This is true! These things are extremely important to us (and any design company), however there is another aspect of the business that can unfortunately be forgotten or pushed aside for the sake of design. The plants! The trees, shrubs, perennials, annuals, etc. are essential mediums that businesses like ours work with daily. Fortunately, we know how important it to be smart about the what’s/why’s/when’s and where’s of the plantings we choose for our designs. It does not do well to create a beautiful design only to use plants that will ultimately fail in the landscape. Not all plants are created equal and they should be treated accordingly. However, it should be noted that sometimes, even with due research and careful consideration, plants do not live up to expectations. This is the nature of nature as many of us Texans are all too well aware of. Our weather is unpredictable and subsequently so are our plants. We are not perfect, but we try to be.  And, we pick plants we believe will be most successful for ours designs and the landscape.
